Suggestion - Chat

Is the chatting thing gonna be a box at the side or bottem or is it gonna be entirely in bubbles?
I know something was said about putting NPC dialogue in bubbles.

I think we should have a local chat that is in bubbles but an OOC chat that is serverwide and in a lil box on the side, lol.

Uh why not counter strike style ... I mean not by pressing a key then write part but the placing ... and if it is shown as it is it wouldn't enterfeer with the game

But with it being like CS or UT04 where it shows on screen poeople spamming or talking alot cn get in the way....

well it is only that and the WoW style chat that are good but you are right both ways it is the same even if they are total difference

check out the tibian way. it has a special box for chatting on the bottom. It has special windows, for server chat(a window for every player from the server), personal chat(talking to someone that is far away from you), normal chat(talking to someone thats near you), a guild chat, NPC chat window.

Wtf?...


I'll put it this way. Chat that is said in the "Say" verb, will be heard by anyone who is on the same map.

"Village chat" will be heard by everyone in the village you're in.

"World chat" you get my point.



It will all be in a box. Just some things are heard and some things are not. If you want to talk with your teammates, buy a radio in-game to use.

If you don't have radios, use MSN or something.

But it will be in the chat box.

use skype or ventrilo :P

What about Squad Say?

Radios for squads. Just like in the series.

When Gais team went to help out Kakashi, naruto, sai, and sakura, they used radios to talk to each other.

Other than that, stay close



But using radios will be it's own chat function, which will basically be a re-named version for squad chat.

Once you buy a radio, you'll never have to buy another, and the squad talk option will be open to you.

Will the squads be like the series where the squads are long lasting teams or will you be able to just join up with someone for one mission or w.e?

I'm thinking more of a team up kind of thing. Not everyone will be on to play with their respective teams at all times. Which would prevent you from doing 'team based missions'.

So you can invite people to be in your team. Team leader will be the one who invites the first player to join, but can also be passed via transfer leadership option.

Just going to give you all a little food for thought. The Heroes of Gaia flash game uses four different chat options.

Global, for the whole community.

Guild, Basically, this could be split into two different options for Oturan Online. You could have a Clan Chat and Squad Chat.

Private, All PM chats instigated and received by yourself would be in this box.

Help, GM's would be online in this box as to assist any members who are having troubles or for bugs to be reported.

Yeah, Oturan will cover all of those aspects, but in its own way.
