Oturan Hand Seal System:

- Using the Jutsu: Assign numbers 0-9 to co-ordinate each correct handsign with the number. For example, I would press 1,2, and 3 then the initation button for the jutsu, this would be effected by the seal accuracy and seal speed of your character, these would determine whether or not you can properly perform the jutsu.


- Hand Seals Correspondence: Each hand sign would follow the handsigns correctly and closely known in the world of naruto. This would mean that for each handsign that you use. this would result in corresponding to one of the main elements. For example say you were doing a fire style technique.. you would perform all the neccesary hand seals then at the very end of the hand seals you would use your last one as the tiger hand seal because it is a fire style based jutsu, and that would apply to all the hand seals corresponding to element techniques.


- Learning The Hand Seals: Learning the hand seals would be done straight from the academy, this should be mandatory.

hm.. We came up with this idea when oturan was first being made. But there was always one problem.

In an rpg the time to use handseals would take to long. Especially for jutsu with long hand seals (ex. Water Dragon). And there are some jutsu with no hand seals.

I really like the idea, but gotta test it out. Smile

This idea was introduced in Naruto REalm forums and it got a huge reaction on both the pro and con side. Longer seal combo for harder jutsu means more realism and sensibility. Also it makes it where a high level guy with good jutsu can't automatically own everyone because people have a chance to hit hit first while he does the seals.
Oturan said the cons already. Also, programming it might be tricky, not for sure though, different people have different specialities.

Yeah the major thing we would need to focus on is making sure it doesn't get out of hand, people wouldn't enjoy slamming 10 buttons in a row to find they press the wrong thing and it fails, but is a good idea and would add another strtegic element to the game. Thanks for making a suggestion as we don't really get that many.

Yea. With the current engine, i dont think it would be that hard. Its as simple as level block, and stat req's.

Can I just say that this idea is fantastic. It needs this. As Scipio has already implied, it will offer a sense of realism. Yes, some Jutsu don't have handsigns, and some may have too many....well....what can be done in this case? MAKE IT FIT. That is what a creative license is used for, alter them as so they fit in their specific categories of power. One may not have any handsigns, but is very destructive. Well, use your creative license and just make a numerical combination for its usage based on its power.

Hah, yeah that looks like a sweet website. I hope you do include hand signs into the game. It would be awesome, and maybe make it more strategic what jutsu to use when in terms ive hand signals to activate, instead of everyone just spamming there best jutsu.
